Our Kauai Adventure-Day 6

Thursday we headed out early to try out the Koloa Ziplines.  This is the area where Jurassic Park was filmed. We both zipped superman style which made it ten times more fun.

The two times that we weren't allowed to ride like super heroes, we were flying upside down.  Very strange feeling once you let your hands go and truly fly backwards & upside down thru the trees.
After the Ziplines, we went snorkeling in Po'ipui and saw some beautiful reef fish.
We had rented an underwater camera by this time, so we were just playing around.
They would get so close to us.

After we got ourselves cooled off, we headed up to Wailua Falls. We were going to hike to the bottom, but the state has fenced it all up. It was still pretty to see and fun to watch this guy maneuver his drone all around the area.

At night, we went to the Smith's Luau. Thought it would be neat to learn a little more about the island cultures. It was a pretty good experience, but I love the show at he Polynesisn Culture Center on Oahu much better. It was still a fun night!
We arrived just in time to take a tram ride thru the beautiful gardens.

Blowing in their shells to open the Emu (pig) ceremony. They were super good at this. Way cool sounding!
Especially with two people harmonizing!
Here's the luau pig. It cooks for 8 hours in the pit.
Picture of our dinner (pig, teriyaki beef, chicken of some kind, Hawaiian sweet potatoes, Chinese rice, poi from the taro root, and fruits).
These three sang to the crowd all throughout dinner. Near the end, they got several people up on stage to try out hula dancing.

Following are a few pictures from the show.

The hula was first performed by men only (back in it's original days).

The girls danced with these balls that were on fire. Very showy!
Fire dancer! He was really good!
Ouch!
Oh no....
Ouch again!
Cool!
One last picture on the way out for our memories!
