Second Day of Fall Break -The Aquarium

Day two of our Fall Break was pretty fun. We were able to visit the Sea Life Aquarium in Tempe, AZ. We had great company with our great friend (& awesome nanny from NC), Sariah, as well as our new friends from church, Any Finley & her three girls. They first got to pet the starfish, funny looking flat lobsters & and hermit crabs. We made it just in time to watch them getting fed. The shrimp ate shrimp! Couldn't imagine eating one of your own!!! Then we made our way to Stingray Bay and saw beautiful, huge rays. They are so graceful and relaxing to watch. We also saw super cool jellyfish with red tentacles. Found out they are made of 90% water, have no gills and no brain! Sometimes it seems like there are lot of things that don't have brains (or I guess they just forget his to use them)! Anyhow, we saw beautiful seahorses, tiger fish and sharks. They had one of those super cool tunnels that you could walk through and have the fish swimming all around you. It would be pretty cool to have a room with aquarium walls. At the end they had a fun little play area for the kids and Hunter found a brochure for Legoland in CA (he's been begging us to go, but we aren't quite ready for this adventure). On the way home, Alton zonked out even without his blanket. Poor little guy always plays so hard!

I was able to go on a 5 mile run tonight, which felt so great. I'm tempted to run a marathon in March. Our schedule is really weird right now, so I'm not getting in much running, but I have several months and hopefully Steven's new job will be a little better on our schedule. Keepin' fingers crossed!

Side note: watched Hunger Games tonight with Steven. If you get nightmares easily like I do, DO NOT watch it! It may be a rough night of sleep tonight, added to the fact that it is already midnight. I best get to sleep! Goodnight!!!!
