Sixth Day of Fall Break - Sunrise

Well, today rounds out our fun Fall Week Break! We started out with a delicious breakfast at the hotel. More variety of foods than normal which was a treat! Then we headed out to the Sunrise Ski area. We got to ride the ski lift to the top and got an amazing view of the area. Then once we got back down, an AirVac helicopter flew in and landed right near the ski lift. Wow! Disney radio was also there giving out free stuff and playing fun dance music. It was all a celebration for the upcoming snow season! The kids really had a blast! After this we headed over to Greer. I have always wanted to see what Greer was all about and this was the perfect time. The Wallow fire in May 2011 has really affected the area, but it was still very beautiful. It is a cute area covered with mountain cabins and streams. We hiked a little bit along the East Fork Trail and had a blast enjoying the great outdoors. We finished out the night having pizza at a nearby playground, swimming again (of course!), and watched "Cloudy with a Chance if Meatballs". Whew! I am ready for a vacation (smiles)! Tomorrow we head back in time for church and getting ready for school (reality)! PS- the picture of the canyon is the Salt River Canyon. It reminded me a little bit of what the early days of the Grand Canyon may have looked like. This picture really doesn't do it justice!
