Steven's Birthday Weekend

This year to celebrate Steven's 36th birthday we decided to go kidless. We had a small birthday celebration with the kids the night before, so we could have a yummy ice cream cake, sing happy birthday and they could give him their cards they each made (A funny side note, according to my birthday cakes, he has been 35yo three years in a row!).
The next morning (his actual bday), we dropped all of the kids off and headed up to Sedona. We rode our mountain bikes for about 3 hours and then relaxed in the heated pool at the Poco Diablo resort where we were staying. It was such a treat just to have time alone with Steven. Truly a dream come true.  The next day, we headed up to hike Mt. Humphrey. This was a pretty last minute decision and so I wasn't exactly dressed for hail on the top of the mountain, but I guess that is just part of he adventure.  It turned out that it was the 10th anniversary of our first date, to the too of Mt. Humphrey! At least we can still make it, even after 4 kids and 10 amazing years.

I love this man!

Goofing off waiting for our dinner to be ready!
Start of the trail.
We made it!

Haboob was rolling in as we neared the Phoenix airport on our way back home. So cool to see!
The huge wall of dust was about to come onto South Mountain.
This is looking toward of home. It was coming in so fast that we were in the middle if it in no time!
