Scorpion Hunting & More

Hunter plays T-Ball at a place called Sunshine Acres. They have horses there and the kids have been dying to go see them up close. They enjoyed seeing them, but thought they were pretty smelly. Horses are one of my favorite animals.
Hunter at bat!
They were quite friendly!

My sister-in-law, Kalley, just came to visit, so we took her driving around the dessert near our house and then scorpion hunting. The scorpions were quite fun to see with the black lights, but would be not so cool if I found one in our home. Been lucky on this one for almost 10 years now.
Kailyn driving Kinley around in her hot rod.
Just near our house. You can see the Wind Cave on the mountain in the background (yellow stripe). We went on a family hike up there shortly after moving back (and yes, we all made it to the cave!).
A little random, but this is a picture of the Gilbert Temple under construction. They haven't yet announced when the dedication will be.
Love this picture!  Kalley took this picture while we were shopping for our hiking treats. Kinley somehow squiggled out her her safety strap, Alton is on the edge because groceries are in the way and he refuses to walk, and Kailyn found her a little spot underneath. This is so typical for our family and my life.
At the park before our scorpion hunt.
Headlights on! Had to go get some more black lights to do it right.
We did see this Arizona Diamondback just sitting there on the side of the trail. We were very lucky we didn't step on him while looking for scorpions. He was definitely alive!
You can see how they glow with the backlight shining in them.

The kids and Dad camped in the backyard while Kalley and I hiked the Grand Canyon. He is the best Dad ever!
They made s'mores.
Fun times!

On another random note, I asked Kailyn to make a birthday card for her friend, so she copied what I wrote and this is what came out. Not sure what to think!
Supposed to say, "Happy Birthday Emaline! Your friend Kailyn".
