On Saturday, (Nov 17, 2012) Steven and I had a super fun date gettin' dirty in our first mud race. Just to get into the starting line-up we had to limb over a wall. We knew from that moment that this wasn't your ordinary road race. We ran 5k over construction walls, piled up tires, the edge of a lake, down a huge slide into water, crawled under bob-wire through the mud, through tunnels filled with mud, over tall walls and much more. It was super fun and super messy. We endured a few scratches, but the laughter together was worth it. The start of the race was like a dust bowl. Then shortly after starting that had a huge watering truck to spray the trail and give us a glimpse of what was ahead. Also, we thought it would be fun to hold hands while going down the slide. Well, turns our it's not the best idea. Steven ended up going down faster than I, therefore it sent me almost underneath him and in fear of what would happen as we hit the water. Just take a look at the picture and you will see what I mean. Notice the difference in how each of us is facing as we fly off the slide! So silly!!!! Right when we crossed the finish line there were volunteers trying to give us bananas and oranges. if only we had clean hands or at least some way not to get a mouth full of mud. Seemed thoughtful, but silly!!! We had to celebrate with a little In-and-Out burger after our hard work. Yum! What a fun morning and great start to our Thanksgiving vacation.

Keri, after seeing those pictures and hearing your stories, I'm convinced...brian and I will definitely be doing a mud race one day!
