Our big boy Hunter is finally 6! We celebrated in style with two parties. After much begging we gave in and organized a party with his school friends before we left for Utah and then we had a family only celebration in Utah on his actual big DAY. His "friend" party ended up having almost 20 kids. We even had some random kids come ask if they could be part of our party! Hunter has really gotten in to Legos, so we had each kid make their own light saber (from a cut in half pool noodle and finger flashlight in the end) and then tied a piece of black material around their head and waist to look like Ninjas (trying to follow the Ninjago Legos theme which seems to be a big fad with these boys). The boys all really liked the set-up. We even had candy sushi compliments of our friend Sariah. fun! Then Steven organized a Ninja obstacle on the playground set at the park, which was super fun. After this challenge, they took their shot at the Lego piñata. If turns out that maybe I used a bit much tape because the plastic bat ended up breaking and not the piñata. Haha! Therefore Steven took a pen and opened it up. The kids didn't seem to care. They were just happy to get lots of candy.
His family celebration was great also. We headed up the the Children's Discovery Museum in Salt Lake City and saw and did some pretty neat things. The museum is part of the 2002 Olympic district, so we got to take a picture in front of an Olypmic skier statue. We also had some yummy chocolate cake and vanilla ice-cream (Hunter's favorite)! He had a lot of fun being treated like a king for his Birthday! He is such a smart, sweet boy and we love him so!
