Hunter turns 7

Hunter turns 7!!!!! He (and the entire family) unfortunately got a stomach bug right around his birthday and he had to miss school on his actual birthday. He was pretty devastated! Even though he felt lousy much of the morning, he still wanted to try a little bit of his birthday requests, pizza and pumpkin pie. It was also a treat for him to have his Grandma & Grandpa visiting from Utah!
Luckily he was back in full swing for his birthday party 2 days later. It had rained nearly all day the day before and much of the morning, and poor Hunter prayed so hard that if would stop long enough to have his party. We had organized for a bounce house to be delivered and have an army boot camp. The clouds cleared just long enough for the boys to bounce their little hearts out, play a few boot camp games, have cake/presents and bounce a little more, then it started sprinkling again.
Army girl Kinley with pacifier and all!
Kinley and her cousin Madison (from Texas)!

Couldn't have been more perfect timing for his party and was truly an answer to his prayers. Being that he wants to fly army helicopters someday, we figured an army party was perfect and had to add in an army cake to make it complete. After much googling, this was the result of my love and determination (and a little if Grandma Richardson's help)!
Funny thing I learned. There is a reason that the candle package says not to place the candles too close together, you might have a flame! It was quite a sight when lit (fire in the cannon!!!!)!
Hunter had fun helping pick out the army men and placing the black tank wheels (licorice and Oreos).

Kinley found a fun way to wear Hunter's army helmet.
